Hello everyone, I hope you’ll are doing well! Firstly, I apologise for not being able to upload a blog post for such a long time. I recently had baked chocolate brownies so I thought I’d write a blog post on it! The brownies actually turned out to be really good.
So for the brownies, you will need:
- 185g unsalted butter
- 185g dark chocolate
- 85g plain flour
- 40g Cocoa powder
- 50g milk chocolate
- 3 large egg
- 275g caster sugar
Cut unsalted butter into cubes and keep it in a medium bowl. Break your dark chocolate into small pieces and put it into a bowl. Fill a small saucepan about a quarter full with hot water, then sit the bowl on top so it rests on the rim of the pan, not touching the water. Put over a low heat until the butter and chocolate have melted, keep stirring them to mix them together . Now remove the bowl from the pan. Leave the melted mixture to cool to room temperature.
While you wait for the chocolate to cool, pre heat your oven to 120C. Now add plain flour and 40g cocoa powder into a medium bowl. With a large sharp knife, chop your milk chocolate into chunks Break 3 large eggs into a large bowl and add in your caster sugar. With an electric mixer on maximum speed, whisk the eggs and sugar until they look thick and creamy. This can take 3-8 minutes, depending on how powerful your mixer is, so don’t lose hope.
Pour the cooled chocolate mixture over the eggy mousse, then gently fold together both the mixtures. Mix until the two mixtures are one and the colour is dark brown.
Now add the cocoa and flour mixture to the eggy mixture, after you have mixed it properly it will start looking a bit gooey. Finally add your chocolate chunks into the batter and mix well
Now that your batter is done you can put it into your tin and put it in your oven for 25 minutes. If you feel it’s still undone leave it in the oven for extra 5 minutes
